I was wodering of any good tips on transitioning an outdoor dog into an indoor dog?

Ever since i got my dog, petey, an american staffordshire, he has always been comfortable living outdoors. But now i want to start bringing him in the home since i now have my own place. I have looked everywhere for this type of info on the transition but i was outta luck...
