What is the goofiest thing you just HAD to do before a trip? What's your story?

I was going to be staying three hours away from home, for only a week...my exboyfriend (we share custody of our dog...we did it in a civil manner, no court orders haha) was going to be keeping our english bulldog. We had only been broken up for about a year and the dog lives primarily with me, but I guess I felt he couldn't remember how to care for him. And since the pup is like my son, I was nervous...first time I had ever left him like that in four years.. Before I went to drop him off at his "dad's", I prepared a care kit with all his favorite toys and a blanket, and even a sweatshirt that smelled like me for him to sleep with, treats, medications, a fan to keep him cool at night...and.....3 pages front and back of instructions... stating how much and how often to feed him, how to administer his meds, his daily routine including how he gets put to bed, tips to help him adjust if he started acting funny [homesick], etc etc etc. The "dad" thought I was totally insane...I know I have issues. But thats my BABY!!
