Why do they call the 2011 Corvette a C 6 when it is the 7th generation?

Derrick... you are wrong about the 1983 Corvette. To end the 1982 model year, Chevy made 6000 special edition Corvettes (one for each dealership in North America) to end the old production line before they started making the C4's (the 1984) on the new line in Bowling Green, KY. On about 400 of these, they messed up on the paperwork and called them 1983's. There are only less than 20 of these left (the car with the paperwork calling it a 1983), and these cars are worth well into the six figures.
